Beautiful! It so succinctly captures how we feel when we lose touch with someone. Glad to see you're still writing, Jim. Hope to see more soon! :)

Our Love Did Not Evolve
May 2nd, 2005

Love's an unknown destination
Most of us set out to find
Usually we search with our hearts
But end up using our minds

Often it succeeds to elude us
In spite of our sincerest tries
For some it's an agonizing experience
And we're left with tears in our eyes

For others it's a joyous revelation
And my friend I hope it is true
Love did not evolve for us
But I hope it one day finds you

Gentle rose
You are to me
A beauty to most unknown

My thoughts of you
Repeat themselves
In a tender melodic tone

Your petals have
The softest touch
Your fragrance the sweetest scent

I will not stop
Admiring you
Until my words are spent

I find that I
Have love for you
But in this I am torn

My feelings will spin
And remain for you
Forever and forlorn
